Services To Support You & Your Family

Infant Feeding Friendly Norfolk (IFFN)

The Infant Feeding Friendly Norfolk (IFFN) scheme encourages businesses and organisations to sign up and pledge to provide welcoming, supportive spaces for families feeding their babies out and about.

By law, women have the right to breastfeed their baby in any public place. Despite this, many women may feel nervous about feeding when they're out and about. They don't always receive the support from others to feed with confidence.

No matter which feeding method(s) a family uses, getting out and about with a baby can be a daunting task. We want all parents with infants to feel able and comfortable to visit venues in Norfolk.

By displaying the IFFN Stickers and certificate the venue pledges to provide infant feeding friendly spaces for all families and their chosen feeding method(s). They pledge to:

  • ensure their spaces are welcoming for all families and carers
  • train staff using the IFFN materials
  • actively support families to feed their infants when out and about
  • understand the rights of those breastfeeding under the Equality Act 2010
  • make every effort possible to support mothers who wish to have additional privacy (toilet and changing areas are not appropriate) whilst they are breastfeeding

Yellow pins are family services and groups. Blue pins are food and drink locations.

Green pins are days out.
